Export of Palm Products in Indonesia
Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the export value of Indonesian palm products continues to increase. In 2020, the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDKS) recorded an export value of US$22.97 billion.
This value increased by 13.6 percent compared to 2019, due to an increase in the price of palm products in the international market. However, the export volume of it has declined.
In 2020, the export volume of palm products was 34 million tons, lower than in 2019, which reached 37.39 million tons.
Although the volume declined, the export value increased by 13.65 percent from US$20.21 billion to US$22.97 billion.
Meanwhile, export of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) decreased from 31.13 million tons in 2019 to 28.27 million tons in 2020.
Then lauric decreased from 1.92 million tons to 1.83 million tons and biodiesel decreased from 1.1 million tons to 300 thousand tons.
The opposite result was seen in oleochemical products, which increased from 3.22 million tons to 3.87 million tons last year.
